The Self-Directed Search (SDS) Form R is an easy-to-use, self-administered test that helps individuals find the occupations that best suit their interests and skills. Individuals answer questions about their aspirations, activities, competancies, occupations, and other self-estimates, and then add up their scores. These scores yield a 3-letter Summary Code (or Holland Code) that designates the three personality types an individual most closely resembles. With this code, test-takers use the Occupations Finder to discover those occupations that best match their personality types, interests, and skills. This comprehensive booklet lists over 1,300 occupational possibilities--more than any other career interest inventory. The Occupations Finder also provides the educational development level each occupation requires and the associated Dictionary Occupational Titles (DOT) code.

The 4th edition of the SDS Form R builds on the features of this popular assessment instrument to reflect the career interests of the 21st Century. The SDS Form R is now an even more effective inventory for both the test taker and the practitioner. Developed using the best features from the earlier versions of the SDS, this edition contains many revisions and additions to ensure current, comprehensive, and accurate career assessments in a wide variety of settings.
