    How do I install MicroSkillsIV with a CD?

    1. Put the CD into the CD drive and wait for the installer to launch.
      If the installer does not run automatically: (auto run is a new feature available after 12/30/00)
      1. Click on the CD drive in Windows Explorer.
      2. Double-click on Setup.exe (Setup with the computer icon if extensions aren't visible.)
        Or
      1. From the Start menu, select Run.
      2. Type <cd-rom drive letter>:setup then click OK. Example: d:setup, e:setup, etc.
      Stand-alone Installation
    1. If you wish to change the installation location, do so. Otherwise, press Continue.
    2. Select Typical
    3. Follow the online instructions.
      Network Installation (On file server)
    1. Select the file server drive.
    2. Select Network
    3. Follow the online instructions.
    4. Run MicroSkillsIV\Sys32\NetReg.exe on the file server from each workstation for first-time installations.

     

    I get an error that there is not enough memory available (but there is).

    Sometimes InstallShield, the application we use to create the installer, has not been updated for the latest systems.
      Stand-alone Installation
    1. Copy the SkillsIV folder from the CD to your harddrive.
    2. Run SkillsIV\Sys32\NetReg.exe on the harddrive.
      Network Installation
    1. Copy the SkillsIV folder from the CD to your server.
    2. From each workstation run SkillsIV\Sys32\NetReg.exe located on the server.
